Cookies, pizza, more cookies, broccoli, sweet potato fries and cookies.

… to cook on my baking pans.

Needless to say, my pans have gotten a lot of love over the years and they are starting to look a little sad.
I’ve done everything to try to get the grime off, but no matter how many trips through the dishwasher or how many sprained elbows I give myself from scrubbing, the pan is never quite clean again.

All of that is about to change because I have been to the promised land of milk and honey and clean pans, people.
Won’t you join me?

Here’s what you’ll need:
a filthy pan
baking soda (I used about 8 Tbsp per pan)
a paper towel
water
aluminum foil

Here’s what you’ll do:
1. Sprinkle the baking soda generously across entire pan.

2. Wet the paper towel with water and gentle scrub the entire baking soda-coated pan.

3. Crumple up some foil and use it as a scrubber across the pan. Put some elbow grease into it for best results. Rinse the pan thoroughly.

Voilà!

Great post! Do you know how this works for non-stick pans? (Any chance it restores their non-stickiness?) My pans are nearing the end of their very full lives, and I would love to extend their baking usefulness!

Great Tip!!! It’s always amazing what can be done with simple household products. Oh and love the picture of the 10th Doctor 😀
