National Ice Cream Pie Day: My 4 Favorite Recipes

If someone were to ask what your favorite day is, most likely fond memories and good times shared with good people spring to mind.
Well, one of my favorite days is August 18th because, barring the fact that its in the dead of summer for us Pacific Northwesterners, this day of all days is National Ice Cream Pie Day.

That’s right, folks. Bet you didn’t realize it was a holiday– a most prestigious national holiday.
To celebrate, I would like to share my top 4 favorite ice cream pie recipes with you guys and let you know that my birthday just passed but a gift such as pie is a cause for celebration in and of itself any day of the year, so… think about it.

Ice cream pie is awesome because (other than maybe the crust very briefly) this is a no bake treat that is excellent any time of year!
The basics are simple, crust (graham cracker or cookie usually), ice cream and toppings (sauces, nuts, etc.).
These favorite recipes of mine are folks who have taken these basics to the next level. Give them a try!

This is the only recipe on here that doesn’t have pre-made ice cream in it, but that’s because you basically make your own ice cream and freeze it right into the crust.
Look how beautifully gooey and creamy it is– just look!

In case it hasn’t been made clear, chocolate and peanut butter are my favorite duo since night and day came along.
This pie may look tantalizingly complicated but the ingredients and preparation are simple and easy.
Its sweet and rich, so you wouldn’t want to, you know, eat the whole thing all at once, but that just extends the whole pie experience out even longer!
